Your ducted system, one zone at a time.
MyAir is a smart zoning add-on for ducted reverse cycle systems. Up to 10 zones, individual room temperature control, an 8-inch wall-mounted touchscreen and a smartphone app. Heat or cool only the rooms you're actually using.
Standard ducted vs ducted + MyAir
A standard ducted system treats the whole home as one zone — when it runs, conditioned air goes to every vent at the same temperature. MyAir splits that single system into individually controlled zones, each at its own target.
Standard ducted
One thermostat reads one temperature. The system runs to that target across the whole home — every vent, every room, all the time it's on.
- Whole home as a single zone
- One temperature target for everything
- Conditions rooms you're not in
- No remote control
Ducted + MyAir
Up to 10 zones, each individually controlled. Close off rooms you're not using. Set different temperatures for different rooms. Schedule, automate, remote-control.
- Up to 10 individual zones
- Different targets per room (with ITC sensors)
- Only condition the rooms you use
- App + touchscreen + smart home control
Four capabilities that change how your ducted runs
Precise per-room control
Open and close zones individually. Send 100% airflow to the rooms in use, close vents in rooms you're not. Add Individual Temperature Control (ITC) sensors and each zone runs to its own temperature target.
Custom scheduling
Set the system to come on before you wake, switch to away mode when no one's home, run the bedrooms cool at night and the living room warm by 6pm. Each zone can have its own daily schedule.
Touchscreen + app
8-inch wall-mounted touchscreen as the main control. The MyAir Series 5 app on iOS and Android turns your phone into a wireless remote — adjust zones from the couch, before you get home, or from anywhere with internet.
Motion sensors (optional)
Add motion sensors to chosen rooms and the system can reduce airflow automatically when a room's been empty for 10 minutes. Walk back in and airflow returns to your setting.
The technical detail that makes MyAir different
Most zoning systems use a single hinged damper in each duct — it's either open or closed. That gives you crude on/off control per zone, and a room either gets the full airflow or none.
MyAir uses Advantage Air's patented Exact Air Regulator (EAR) — a series of blades that adjust airflow in 5% increments from 5% to 100%. Originally engineered for commercial high-rise applications, now used in residential.
- Adjust airflow precisely per room — 5% to 100%
- Better balanced airflow across the whole system
- Quieter operation than slammed-open dampers
- More even temperatures across zones
The MyAir app — remote control in your pocket
The MyAir Series 5 app runs on iOS and Android. Adjust zones, change temperatures, switch modes and check status from anywhere — couch, work, holiday — provided your phone has internet.
Works with your existing setup
MyAir is designed to integrate with most major ducted brands and with the smart home ecosystem you already use.
Smart home integration
MyAir works alongside your existing smart home setup. The touchscreen itself is an Android tablet — it doubles as a wall-mounted home hub for music, calendars and apps.
- Google HomeVoice control for zones and temperature
- Amazon AlexaVoice commands for system on/off and modes
- Android tabletWall-mounted hub for apps, music, calendars
Compatible ducted brands
MyAir controls the AC unit as well as the zone dampers — one system, one set of controls. The official MyAir Series 5 compatibility list:
Not sure if your existing system is compatible? Ask us — we'll confirm before quoting.
New build or retrofit — both work
MyAir installs cleanly with a new ducted system — we design the zones and damper positions during the ducted install. For existing ducted systems, MyAir can be retrofitted: we replace the existing dampers with EAR units, fit the wall-mounted touchscreen, configure zones and pair with your AC unit.
The biggest variables are how many zones you want (more zones = more dampers and labour), whether your existing AC brand is compatible, and ceiling access for the damper work.

MyAir questions answered
Can MyAir be retrofitted to my existing ducted system?
Usually yes, provided your AC unit is one of the compatible brands (Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Fujitsu, Samsung, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG). The retrofit involves replacing your existing dampers with EAR units, installing the wall-mounted touchscreen, and configuring the system. We'll check brand compatibility and ceiling access during the assessment and quote.
What's the difference between an Airflow Zone and a Temperature Zone?
Without ITC (Individual Temperature Control) sensors, each zone is an Airflow Zone — you control how much air it gets, in 5% increments from 5–100%. Add an ITC sensor to a room and it becomes a Temperature Zone — you set a target temperature and the system adjusts airflow automatically to maintain it. You can have a mix: ITC sensors in the rooms where temperature matters most (bedrooms, main living), airflow-only in the rest.
Will MyAir reduce my energy bills?
For most households, yes — but the savings depend on usage patterns. The biggest wins come from not conditioning unused rooms (close the bedrooms during the day, close the living room overnight). If you used to run the whole house at one temperature all day, MyAir lets you condition only what's in use. Households that already manually closed vents to unused rooms will see smaller savings; households that ran the whole system all day will see larger ones.
How many zones do I need?
Most homes work well with 5–8 zones. A typical setup: living, kitchen/meals, master bedroom, kids' bedrooms (one zone or two), study, plus any other distinct spaces. More zones give finer control but cost more in dampers and labour. We'll suggest a zoning layout during the assessment based on how you actually use the home.
Does it work with Google Home or Alexa?
Yes — the MyAir Series 5 integrates with both Google Home and Amazon Alexa for voice control. You can ask Google to turn the system on, change modes, or adjust zones by name. Setup is done through the MyAir app once installed.
What happens if the internet goes down?
The touchscreen and the zones all keep working — they're hardwired, not dependent on Wi-Fi. You lose remote app control until the internet's back, and voice assistant integration stops working, but the system itself runs normally. The touchscreen is permanently powered and wall-mounted, so it's always available locally.
Is MyAir made in Australia?
Yes — Advantage Air designs and manufactures MyAir in Perth, Western Australia. The Australian build is one of the reasons we keep installing it: support, parts, and warranty service are all local rather than overseas.
What's the warranty?
MyAir Series 5 comes with a manufacturer warranty from Advantage Air — coverage details are confirmed at quote. Our workmanship warranty on the install itself is on top of that. As with any electronic system, we recommend keeping the firmware updated through the touchscreen and the app for the latest features and reliability fixes.
