A radiator for every room and aesthetic

Hydronic radiators come in a wide range of styles, sizes and orientations. The right choice depends on the room, the wall space available, and the look you're after — we'll match the type to the brief during the assessment.

Type 01

Steel panel radiators

The most common hydronic radiator — flat or convector-style steel panels in white finish. Reliable, efficient, and the standard choice for bedrooms, living rooms and hallways.

Type 02

Tubular radiators

A classic column-style look with vertical tubes — adds visual character and works well in heritage homes, hallways and statement spaces.

Type 03

Linear radiators

Sleek, low-profile horizontal panels — ideal under windows, along long walls, or where you want the radiator to blend into the architecture.

Best forContemporary builds
Type 04

Vertical radiators

Tall, narrow panels that maximise heat output in minimal floor footprint. Perfect for narrow walls, behind doors, or as a design feature in the room.

Best forNarrow walls
Type 05

Heated towel rails

Hydronic-powered towel rails for bathrooms and ensuites — warm towels straight off the rail, plus they help with humidity. Specified during your bathroom design.

Type 06

Low surface temperature

DeLonghi Radel range — radiators specifically designed for homes with young children or vulnerable occupants. Safe to touch even at full operating temperature.

Sizing & placement

Right size, right spot

A radiator's heating output depends on its surface area, the temperature of the water flowing through it, and where in the room it sits. Get sizing wrong and the room will never feel warm enough — or you'll pay for a radiator that's bigger than it needs to be.

We calculate output based on each room's heat-loss profile (insulation, window area, ceiling height, exposure) and recommend the right size and placement for each space. Most homes need a mix of radiator sizes — bigger units in living areas, smaller in bedrooms and bathrooms.

Built to last

A radiator should outlast the renovation

Quality hydronic radiators are durable, low-maintenance, and built to perform for decades. The radiators we supply come with manufacturer warranties between 10 and 25 years — depending on the brand and product line — and we stand behind every install.

Longevity matters here. A radiator that fails inside 5 years means lifting tiles, opening walls, and disrupting the home. That's why we only specify products with the warranty and track record to match.

Common questions

Radiator questions answered

How many radiators will my home need?

Typically one per room, sometimes two in larger living or open-plan spaces. We calculate the exact number and size during the assessment based on heat-loss for each room — not a one-size-fits-all rule.

Can I keep radiators if I switch from a gas boiler to an electric heat pump?

In most cases, yes. Modern radiators are compatible with both gas boilers and electric heat pumps. Occasionally we'll recommend resizing a radiator or two if the flow temperatures change significantly. See the electric heating page for more on heat pumps.

Are radiators safe around kids?

Standard radiators get warm to the touch but not dangerously hot. For homes with young children, elderly occupants, or vulnerable people, we can specify low surface temperature radiators like the DeLonghi Radel range — these stay safe to touch at full operating temperature.

How long does it take to install radiators?

Depends on the size of the home and whether it's a new build or retrofit. New builds are quickest because pipework can be designed in. Retrofits typically take 5–10 days, depending on access and pipework runs.

Do radiators cool the home in summer?

No — radiators are heating-only. For cooling, we typically pair hydronic heating with ducted or split-system reverse-cycle air conditioning, or specify a hybrid system that uses one outdoor unit for both heating and cooling.

What's the price difference between designer and standard ranges?

It depends on the specific product, but designer radiators typically cost 2–4× the price of standard panels. Most homes use a mix — designer pieces in feature rooms (living, ensuite, hallway) and standard panels in bedrooms and secondary spaces. We confirm the cost split during the quote.

Can radiators be painted or customised?

Designer-range radiators are available in custom colours and finishes from the factory. Standard radiators can typically be painted with appropriate radiator-safe paint after install, though it doesn't always look as clean as a factory finish.
